This is a royal meerchaum mini, they are pressed but almost identical in nature, and still hand carved and finished, nice for a quick smoke and not at all a novelty pipe at the price of one. imgur.com/gallery/bgv7opsThoughts?

I have had a 6$ pressed meer that has always smoked well. Looks like total crap as it stains easily. Love it when it's lit

Just my opinion...but, pressed is crap in comparison to block meer. Sorry, there is no free lunch.

It smokes good for an occasional smoke, It tends to hold moisture more, I had on before, smoked the shite out of it.. got this one because the other i over smoked, but with a good cadence and irregular smoking, this ones held up, it's not bad actually.

Smoke what you want in whatever you want. I'm also not a meer guy at all, I have one and smoke it once a year whether it needs it or not.

Not sure one can rave about corn cobs and trash these, unless you have tried both. Not saying you did that, just offering an overall opinion. And, pressed meer beats the boogers out of clay... again, I note, no one said so here

I should clear up my criticism, or opinion of pressed meer. It is not crap, it is a good way of tasting a tobacco (just like a cob) that you may be interested in buying. But if you want the meer experience, a true block meer is the only way to go, in my humble (or not so humble) opinion.

These little meers are not able to stand the heat when you huff and puff like a freight train. Smoke these like you would your larger block meer. A nice slow cadence. Granted these are a short smoke. I've got a couple the I pull out on occasion. But with 10 block meers they don't get much action.

It's all part of the journey. If you dig this one, you can pick up a block meer, make a comparison and see what you think? Perhaps it's not your thing in which case you're not out a bunch of coin.
The great thing about meer is you can get to the penthouse for less than $400. If you decide to take the plunge and get a block meer, I'd recommend a Baki or IMP with a push tenon.
Just have fun with it and may the force be with you.

Buy a cob or save up for a meer.

I see what both parties are saying. I think, if it didn't cost much and you like the pipe then you've done well.
If it makes you want a better meer then buy one if or when you have the money.
If the point of pipe smoking is the pleasure it brings, and this pipe gives you that pleasure, then you've accomplished your goal.

Good points, the lot of ya. Its good for a small occasional bowl, and a real meer has some appeal now. Thanks for the input. Give one a try, I use mine to smoke the ground up carter hall or what have you left at the bottom of the jar/bag.

The coolestr and cleanest pipes that I have ever smoked are corn cob. I have a large meer and I use it on occasion and I have a small poured meer for the times that I want a 5 minute quick puff. But my best pipe is on old xxl brier by some one named boracelli. Smoke what you love.
