I only had to draw my weapon once in the four and a half years living here in NC, thank God it went no further! Can’t say the same in the type of work I retired from!!! Once you shoot and kill another human, no matter what the circumstances one never forgets. Only had to draw three times during my life (so far.) Once in NYC, once in Alabama and once in California. Never had to fire.

Ha! I remember reading that story, Charlie! Yeah...I figure people are sick of seeing it, but there is always a new guy on board.

Charlie, great story, I enjoyed reading. One never knows, but always be prepared. When I’m in a dangerous area of NC I carry my FN FiveSeven. With only a lite grain load, it’s one of the most deadliest weapons to carry. Here in NC it’s legal to carry a 20 round magazine. So, I ALWAYS carry HOT, hammer down and safety locked.I practice often at a range. If your not trained or familiar with carrying hot, then use only a revolver! Plus I carry two extra magazines on my belt. In California you can “ ONLY “ carry a 10 round magazine, so know the laws of every State. With only a 45 grain round you would not believe how it penetrates ballistic gel. So, if you need to use this particular weapon in self defense you best know damn well sure what’s behind the target your about to shoot. Extremely accurate weapon in the right hands!

Since California refuses to accept reciprocity, I no longer go there...too dangerous.

I can legally carry in NYC, BUT I’m suppose to notify the office of Commissioner of NYPD. Most don’t bother!

...Valerie and I are leaving CA next year... Any particular reason, if you care to share? ...well... it's California. We both were born here, but it doesn't reflect our values anymore. Also... it's too darn expensive!

Not at all. Although my eyes are opened to a whole new world of what goes on in the States. I think if things like you've all be saying were to happen when I'm there visiting, I'd need to pack a lot of extra underwear! In other ways, actually, a lot of us guys are crazy in one way or another (myself included), but in a good way.
