The budget talks in Harrisburg have once again put the tax on cigars and pipe tobacco back in play. I wrote a short and very pointed note to my state rep and senator telling them that the $10,000/year I spend at the local B&M on cigars, pipe tobacco and other items will immediately go out of state if those proposed taxes are passed. I urge other Pa smokers to do the same. The only thing they understand is money and when it exits the state, only then, will they realize their folly.
No I assume you already pay city/county/state sales tax on retail in state tobacco purchases. Right now I don't think PA has a tobacco excise tax. If they pass a tax it will be on the wholesale not retail price.
