Quit the pipe in 1998. Just started again. Question. I used to smoke Granger, so I bought a can online. It’s sure not the granger I remember. Is there anything close to the old granger? I’ve got three Savinelli pipes, all king sized. Love the pipes. Thanks,Ric

I'm afraid I can't answer your question, but you're very welcome to the patch. There are a load of great people here, and the sense of humour is through the roof.

Welcome to the BriarPatch, enjoy your stay, sit back relax, read some threads....if you have questions just ask.
Your Granger that you remember is long gone as far as comparison to the original. I still have a few metal tubs from the 70’s, was my grandfather’s favorite 👍 However you will find many excellent Burley forward bulk blends still available today....GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks,Ric Welcome to The Briar Patch 2grouse, and hope you enjoy your stay with us I agree with @lonecoyote that today's Granger does not come close to the Granger of old. Granger is what my dad use to smoke, and the only pipe tobacco blend too (he started in with the pipe soon after WWII). I could recommend a good all burley blend from LJ Peretti named #333 located here: www.ljperetti.com/l-j-peretti-tobacco-cat/burley.htmlHere are some reviews on the blend here: www.tobaccoreviews.com/blend/862/peretti-blend-no333I think its a darn good blend, and ordering an ounce or two from Peretti', I think you'd enjoy it! Glad to have you on-board!!

Thank you all for the welcome. Mark, I ordered an ounce of #333. We will see. 333 is a fantastic burley, I can't imagine anyone who likes old fashioned american blends not enjoying it. Welcome to the board. Where in Ohio are you from, currently in Columbus myself.
