Well today I went outside and smoked my home blend and for the first time I smoked on MY terms! Not when it was break time at 2AM.. not in the garage in the cold...not under an awning in the rain... no I had a smoke when it was sunny and breezy and I played with my dogs too. For the first time in many years I remembered why I smoke a pipe..to relax and enjoy my time..I forgot what it was like to take the time to enjoy a bowl and watch the world pass me by..I think this experience provided me with a name for my blend..it shall be called "Forgotten Time". The blend is a mixture of some well aged Frog Morton on the Town..Russ's Experimental M61 blend and a rough cut cigar..Quorum cigar.. In the jar it has a sweet and smokey smell..to me it has an almost honey like smell..the smokey smell does not overpower the jar at all..the cigar smell is way back in the distance but still lets you know it is in there. The blend packs decent enough even though I rough cut the cigar and it lights quite nicely..the smoke it moderate and fills the air with a sweet smokiness. For me the taste is sweet from the Frog smokey from the Russ blend and the cigar adds depth and body along with a gentle nudge towards the cigar side. Is it an English?? Is it a Cigar blend? What is it?? Well I really don't know ..maybe a Nicaraguan/Lat something or another.

Some of my MOST enjoyable pipe smokes come from blending my Cuban cigar clippings into my favorite and not so favorite blends. One exceptional cigar pipe blend on the market is C&D Billy Budd (outstanding), and another one is McClelland Dominican Glory Maduro. Mixing cigar with Penzance and Strang Cut is also a sublime experience! I can imagine that your custom mixture is at the very high level of perfection!

Received today and really ENJOYING a very tasty bowl right now!!! I love the smooth sweetness of the Frog Morton and the added depth from the cigar leaf (delicious!). The M61 Virginia leaf addition is somewhat subdued, but the very smokey Turkish & Oriental leafs which the Frog Morton doesn't have shine through boldly, so good call on adding it to this mixture! Pouch note is rich and inviting! Room note is pungent and makes me want to visit my log cabin for a long relaxing retreat! Needs to be puffed gently at a slow pace as it can be a little bitey, but the savory flavor is so decadent and easy to get to that zealous puffing isn't needed. We have a winner! 5 Stars!!!!!
