I'm making pizza tonight. Normally I just use passata for the tomato sauce (sacrilegious too some, I'm sure). Today, I'm wanting to try something different.
I could use Google to find a recipe, but I trust you guys more.
Does anyone have any recipes that you know are good, or is passata from the carton just as good?

Pizza sauce is easy. Take a little finely diced onion and saute until translucent in sooner high quality Olive oil. Then take a large can of crushed tomato or even better 1 quart of canned crushed tomato from your garden. Drop in pot. Let cook for 10 minutes then add black pepper, basil, oregano, and marjaram to taste. Cook another 10 minutes and taste. If too acidic as a free tsp of sugar. Cook a bit longer and put on pizza

The pizza sauce ^^^^^^^ above is a good recipe. Only ingredient I would add is fresh pressed roasted garlic. I also prefer my pizza sauce with small chunks of tomatoes ππ +1, Basil pesto too. Trader Giotto's is killer.

I'm trying the sauce out, along with the garlic. I haven't added the pesto because I have some frozen basil too put on the pizza itself.

Sauce tastes better the next dayπππ I can't wait that long. When you make pizza or a good sauce for pasta always make enough for at least 2 nights. Remember, you can always freeze sauce.

My Mom would make sauce from the Roma Tomatos in the garden. It took hours. We have so many diverse and excellent pizzerias around my town why make it. Phone up it here in 30 minutes. Good luck though!

The fire was a bit hot so over time the pizza stone got too hot and the base became a bit charred. I tried spraying the stone with water before putting the pizza in, but that didn't help. After I finished cooking all the pizzas, I tried one more with the left over dough, but I poured a cup of water on the stone. This really helped and the base was spot on. Good to know for the future.

Trader Giotto's is killer. Basil Pesto is a total game changer ramping the sauce up two notches. I would add a certain amount of Tomato Puree or Paste to the diced or crushed tomatoes

It was 1956 as I recall from remembering the kitchen. I was 5 years old. A Chef Boyardee packaged dough mix and their sauce mix with their own cheese topping. I watched in amazement as this thing came together.

First pizza I ever ate was in the Navy in Milwaukee, drunk as a skunk, next morning I remembered eating something that was out of this world but didnβt remember what. Had to ask my buddies, I was hooked ever since. LL your pizza is a fine looking thing.

My first pizza was at Shakeys, and I wasn't impressed. But then an Italian family moved to our North Houston neighborhood and opened a pizza shop in front of their house on North Yale, a block from the ice house. Kind of a dump, babies crawling between your legs while you are trying to order and pay for your pizza, but man oh man what a taste experience.

As a child I never liked pizza, but that's because my mum always bought frozen pizza. When I had a proper pizza my eyes were opened!
