Used to support DU, when I hunted. Now, the CCA is my charity of choice.

Never joined, but had a Layayette buddy who was big into it, would go with him as guest and they had silent auctions for their benefit and some charities, I would always donate money as it was a good cause, after the service I was not a joiner.

I have not been duck hunting since I was teenager with my dad.
A praise worthy organization as I recall.

As a young man I discovered 3 problems with duck hunting. 1. It's too early. 2. It's too cold. 3. It's too wet. I would rather terrorize quail. And I really just posted this because I am an obsessive/compulsive nut job who could not log off with 799 posts. You should see me at the gas pump making sure my purchase ends with a 0.

I eat things that have been killed. I've never had the heart to kill anything myself though,so I've never hunted..Except years ago with a camera

I also like the volume on the television to be on an even number, and was recently disturbed to find that the boxes of Ritz crackers with several small rolls contain 13 crackers per roll. So yes--I am a bit nutty. Edited to add--maybe more than "a bit."

Huge respect for what DU has done over the years - the first group truly concerned with conservation and the environment (in a good, non-tree hugger way).
My dollars go elsewhere, but they do good work.

I go to the extreme though if you can imagine. My house was always neat as a pin, was told it look like a model home or museum (UN-lived in) and if someone was to move ANYthing a fraction of an inch I'd know it and would have to move it back. It was like I lived in a photo so to speak. And I'm still that way...... a little, not as bad, at least I don't think so. Of course I'm the eccentric one, so how would I know?

...yeah, I used to think it was fun to march around in overpriced boots for miles, then sleep in an overpriced tent in an overpriced sleeping bag... on the cold, hard ground... but I did have an overpriced Therm-a-Rest pad... lol...

I remember hitch hiking to Idaho with a rolled up blanket and $5 in my pocket. Over priced wasn't in the equation. Too young to know better or care I reckon.
