Just did a quick Google search for tobacco flavored with bergamot, but came up empty. I'd assume there must be some English blend that uses bergamot, or tastes like Earl Grey. Anyone have any suggestions?

Orlik Golden Sliced is a bright VA tobacco with a very distinctive topping. I could swear it's bergamot.
It is primarily noticed in the room note, though. The flavor is straight VA.

Oooooo! Thank you so much! I wish SP's search was better, because that was the first place I searched "bergamot".

Definitely bergamot. It tastes like smoking a cup of Earl Gray tea. I think it is the predominant flavor followed by some cinnamon.

SG Grousemoor always reminded me of Earl Grey.

I suspect the bark-y, cinnamon-like notes are just the base tobaccos. Can't prove it.
The room note, though, smells like hovering over a cup of Earl Grey.

It's very distinctive. What gave me the idea is, well, Earl Grey tea. As you pointed out in the OP. I've never eaten a bergamot. Or licked one. Just smoking OGS makes the whole room smell like huffing a tea cup

I pretty much taste cinnamon in all VAs. OGS gives me the citrus to start and about halfway through bowl the spice takes over. The citrus is still there, but not as pronounced. I think it is pretty tasty over all.

That looks really intriguing... As do a few other Vauen blends. Do they make their own or outsource?

Thanks, smellthehatfirst and cgvt. I've only smoked a few bowls of OGS so far. I've enjoyed it, but don't remember getting the Earl Grey flavor. Then again, I wasn't looking for it. It's on the list for tomorrow night. The Vauen, on the other hand, should definitely fit the bill, so thanks david.

It's on the list for tomorrow night. It's way more prominent in the room note. The topping is distinctive (and wonderful) but it doesn't come out in the flavor. That is one of the things I like about Golden Sliced, to be honest. I like a Virginia blend to taste like Virginias.
For me, the topping is wonderful because its impact is restricted to the sidestream and room note.

Interesting flavour. I'm not sure if I would even detect it though, but I'm intrigued...

Disagree. To me, the flavor comes out in droves and is immediately and obviously apparent. As always, YMMV.

I will be mixing my specialty Earl Grey tea leaves into various favorite Virginia baccy blends and have no doubt will find the flavor I seek.

Would you consider this mixture a traditional English or an aromatic.? If you are referring to my own mix of tea & tobacco - doesn't mean anything to me either way as long as it tastes good and smokes well. If you are referring to the original Vauen mixture, IDK, nor do I feel concerned in the least - if it suits one's taste, it's good.

When I was about 10 years old, I tried smoking tea. i would roll a tea-bag up in paper, sellotape it together and try to smoke it. Wasn't a pleasant experience. I hope you get a better experience with the bergamot.

This is not an uncommon enjoyable practice at all, and one that I've enjoyed for many many years. I have found it regrettable, though understandable, that pipe tobacco enthusiast have a rather narrow view and experience with the smoking varieties this planet has to offer... and I'm not talking about federally frowned-upon leaf. Expand your horizons people before poopooing on the goods...

It's almost a foot long. I could dry that out and make my own mixture and sell it to you guys as Irish tobacco.
