Would you consider this mixture a traditional English or an aromatic.? If you are referring to my own mix of tea & tobacco - doesn't mean anything to me either way as long as it tastes good and smokes well. If you are referring to the original Vauen mixture, IDK, nor do I feel concerned in the least - if it suits one's taste, it's good. I had a thought on a old tradition is why I asked. I guess I shouldn't have.

I think there may have been a misunderstanding... I hope that's all it was.

I think there may have been a misunderstanding... I hope that's all it was. Apparently I didnt apply a more palatable and forum-friendly sugar coating on my response to the question posed, though my response was generously offered and intended based on my understanding of the question and personal experience... shot from the hip as is my usual style and persona.

Surprised there isn’t a lakeland that uses it. I think it's one of the main ingredients in Lakeland "sauce", actually.

I see it as citrusy more than soapy. Kind if a strange orange flavor. And you guys that can't taste in OGS are all wrong, dammit

Orlik Golden Sliced is a bright VA tobacco with a very distinctive topping. I could swear it's bergamot. It is primarily noticed in the room note, though. The flavor is straight VA. Definitely bergamot. It tastes like smoking a cup of Earl Gray tea. I think it is the predominant flavor followed by some cinnamon. I definitely get the bergamot in OGS and agree, it's the same as in Earl Gray tea. I don't get any cinnamon though.

I dont even know what burgamont is honestly It's a type of citrus fruit, a variety of orange (even though they are green) extremely fragrant rind. If you've ever smelled earl grey it's what flavors it.

I think the spice in almost all of the VAs that I have smoked tastes a bit like cinnamon. Some more so than than others. Tasting is so subjective. Some of us pick up some flavors more than others. I am very sensitive to citrus, especially grapefruit. I think it comes from brewing beer and searching for flavors in different hops. That may be why I pick up so much bergamot in the OGS. Don' have a clue about why I pick up the cinnamon, though

A couple of weeks ago my wife suggested we watch an art nouveau movie with that Bergamot actor. For some reason I knew immediately that she meant film noir and Humphrey Bogart.
