There is a black and mild pipe tobacco. I don't know that its still produced but it was available. Its a middletons product so it should be available somewhere.
Edit: It really is just black cavendish dried down to cigarette levels of moisture and rolled in a homogenized tobacco leaf with a tip. Try drying 1q down to almost crispy it might be similar or identical.

I'm not surprised it reminded you of pipe tobacco. From what I understand, one of the ingredients in the original Black-n-Mild is pipe tobacco.

www.marscigars.com/blackandmildsweetvanilla.aspxwvsmokeshop.com/whitehallblacktie.aspxI've ordered from both companies with no issues. That Mars Cigars is the only place with Black & Mild may mean it's been discontinued, as WV Smokeshop always carried it, but does not now. The second link would be my suggestion for a tobacco in that area of taste. It's mild, has sweet vanilla, maybe even a little more. You can buy 4 ounces of it or less, even. I always buy 4 (though I already have 3 pounds of this) so you don't just get the stuff on top of the pile that has had more air contact

Yea, break a few open then and add some 4 Aces, Laredo, Gambler or one of the other wonderful want to be pipe tobacco like these. What do you get when a want to be a cigar marries a want to be pipe tobacco?
A want to be cigarette. There is no comparison between Carter Hall and Black and Mild, the only thing they have in common is they both come from the same company.

It would be interesting to do some blind tests with the filler from Black and Milds vs Prince Albert, seeing as they are made in the very same factory.
