Brad, thank you....but no need for an apology!! We keep losing power, three times so far. Another 4 hours of tornado watching. Thank God Iβm near near the coastline of NC....severe flooding and devastation.....650,000 plus homes without power. The number might surpass 2,000,000 before the now β Tropical Storm β passes completely through NC.
APPRECIATE YOU THINKING OF MEππππππ

So many choices in the safe My Ruger Commander 1911 is under my pillow tonight. We keep losing power on & off. Someone comes a knockin, the front door will be opened with a super heavy duty chain lock with my left hand, in my right hand is where my 1911 will be. Already a warning on the news....β donβt open your doors unless you know whoβs on the other side, sometimes that means trouble followed as well β!

Already a warning on the news....β donβt open your doors unless you know whoβs on the other side, sometimes that means trouble followed as well β! Going with history in the form of a 1911 would be my preferred problem solver. But, I don't want my Wilson to get lost in an evidence locker after the problem is solved, even if it is a good shot. I have a Walter PPQ M2 .45 with Trijicon night sites as my nightstand gun. It it gets lost, it would be no where near as painful. The girlfriend is not a fan of the PPQ, as the .45 is too much for her. I may go with something in 9mm, but I prefer the .45. In the end, a simple mantra is the best advice to give an unwanted guest - you are either welcomed in, or you are carried out. Stay safe

I keep a gun around with bullets in it. But I don't think I could ever use it again. I hate killing. I understand something had to die for me to eat. But at least thats the cycle of life.
The idea that person has a mother. She carried him for nine months. Was born in a hospital probably, the joy his mother felt, holding him the first time. He went down a bad road. It probably wasn't his fault, in the slightest.
Maybe the universe just decided this speck of dust, my being, has reached its terminus.
That's fine. I could accept that. Terrible truth.

adding my good thoughts Ted & anybody else in the area. My step-family left Dunn, NC early Wed a.m. for somewhere near TN/Va area & should be ok. Their home built up fairly high but who knows the height of the storm surges. Bests to all
Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY right now 70, dry & same xpected for next comple days.

People make choices all the time. When they make the choice to victimize another...they give up the option of "getting a second chance"... Particularly in a natural or unnatural disaster. They come a nockin' they accept the consequences of that stupid decision.

I have managed to get through 68 years without killing anyone, and I hope to continue that way. I keep a loaded 44 Mag in the truck that shows the nice shiny full wadcutters plainly flush with the front of the cylinder. Just to give them a chance to reconsider their life choices.

I have known quite a few Viet Nam Survivors who gave up hunting after that war. They all basically said they couldn't stand being in the woods and hearing gunfire.
Glad to see you're still with us Ted.

I am in the middle of no where!! Of course, we (all 190 of us) tend to think of it as someplace good and the rest of the world is lost. But, that is just me and a few others.
