On the latest Pipesmagazine podcast, Brian Levine read an email from Canadian pipe maker Nate Rose sounding the alarm about Bill S5 in Parliament, if enacted Nate says that 50% of the premium blends available will disappear. Nate suggested that Canadians go to bettercigarplan.ca/ and sign up, but I don't see them mentioning anything about fighting for pipe tobacco's.It looks like the same old "the sky is falling" because vaping products are not taxed like tobacco, and no more menthol in tobacco products, plain packaging with morbid looking patients on the cover. openparliament.ca/bills/42-1/S-5/ |

Thanks for posting the link, interesting reading. It looks like the bill will pass in the House of Commons and will soon become law!! Fifty years from now the Art of smoking a pipe will be just past history.....JMHO

That sucks. I wonder when it will hit the UK - can't be long...and Brexit might play a part in catalysing that too.
I'll just have to start smoking herbal tea.

Sometimes I feel like stocking up on tobacco and storing it well would be a good retirement. When tobacco is hard to find and blends varieties are only talk about by "those who were there", I could sell my stock as if it were hoity-toity wine.

Sometimes I feel like stocking up on tobacco and storing it well would be a good retirement. When tobacco is hard to find and blends varieties are only talk about by "those who were there", I could sell my stock as if it were hoity-toity wine. Lol. I'm doing the same, but not to sell... Just so I have something to smoke. |

My first thought was NOT oregano, and I remember being giddy with excitement over the prospect of what I thought, and perhaps dreamed, what was in that jar. Too bad, it was dried oregano a friend grew in her garden. |
