Me and some friends are looking for a Virginia that checks the citrus box. Not mildly citrus, but one with a strong natural citrus flavor. Is there such a tobacco? What would you recommend?

Definitely try HU Tobaccos Bahia Orange, you won’t be disappointed 👌👍👍. I’m use to the older version of Rattray’s Exotic Orange, Exotic Passion no longer smokes or tastes like the original. But if you never tried the original you “ might “ enjoy Exotic Passion.

F&T Cut Virginia Plug might fit the bill.

Also buy an ounce of Newminster # 403 Superior Round Slices. You’ll pick up a fruit taste when fresh, with about 2 years of aging it’s an excellent citrusy tobacco.

F&T Cut Virginia Plug might fit the bill. I 2nd this one. It's good, but I've found that I prefer red Virginia's more.

Typically blends with bright, yellow, or lemon VA's will have a more citrus taste to them. So look for those components.
The darker VA varieties tend to be more "hay like" and earthy.

The renaming of blends was due to the EU nonsense....Per Jensen spoke awhile back how it affected some of the MacBaren products.

Orlik Golden Slice has a whisper of Perique; however, it's readily available, inexpensive and I've always detected a citrus note in this simple smoke.

Orlik "Golden Sliced" is an obvious choice. Bright lemon Virginia, in your face, with a gentle bergamot topping.
as a somewhat "out there" suggestion -- McConnell "Scottish Flake." It's not straight Virginia, but it is a very tangy, citrus-forward experience.

Wessex - Gold Virginia Flake I have a tin's worth of this sitting in a jar gathering some age. Forgot to smoke some before I put it in the jar though. lol
