Trying out my HCA with the churchwarden stem for the first time (with some St. James Flake, incidentally ). So how do I clean it when I'm done? Use one pipe cleaner then a second to push it out? Spit water through it?

You need to order the extra long pipe cleaners designed for Churchwarden stems. Until then use one smooth pipe cleaner at each end of the stem.

You buy special long pipe cleaners for churchwardens. All the online places sell them.

That’s why I recommend to use one at each end until Chico gets the extra long cleaners. Pushing one thru followed by another in the same direction will just cause more problems than you need.

I have decided I must post! You send away for your handy, dandy churchwarden stem cleaning kit. You have to be able to find one on the interwebs!

If I act now, do I get not one, not two, but three handy dandy churchwarden stem cleaning kits, all for the low low price of $19.99? And if I respond in the next 24 hours, do I also get an 8-track cartridge of Connie Francis's Greatest Hits?

How many churchwardens do you have? You can always just wash the stem in the sink.

The Peterson is just too small, the Brog was clogged with sawdust when I got it and it took me 2 days to get it open, so I am mad at it. The one I smoke is a 40 year old Craftsman. But several of my other pipes have long enough stems to need a longer cleaner. The Wellington Jumbo, Butz Choquin Calabash, and a couple of other. Wash in the sink this time and throw a bundle of calabash cleaners in your next tobacco order. I have another use for them. I braid them onto the handles of my luggage so that it's readily recognizable on the turntable at the airport. Of course if we cross paths that could cause a problem.

This was my first time smoking one and I'm not sure I "got" it. It was no more nor no less enjoyable than smoking the same pipe with the regular stem (it's one of those interchangeable jobs). Kind of fun for a novelty, guess. I'll use these on my luggage, just in case:https://www.amazon.com/100pk-Multi-Coloured-Pipe-Cleaners/dp/B002R5R6Y4

I used to have some metallic green craft ties like that on some long gone luggage. I would get some more, but golly, if everyone is doing it then there's no point. 🤠😉
