My latest bout with PAD started when a member on a forum showed the most beautiful Apple Bowl with the craziest bamboo shank I’ve ever seen, the pipe is by Roman Kovalev of Doctor’s Pipes. I found Doc, as he refers to himself, on Facebook and there were 5 of the most unusual bamboo shank pipes I’ve seen, not so much the bowl but the bamboo used is incredibly insane. Needless to say I made an inquiry to Doc if any of the pipes were available and he replied that 3 were and sent photos. Never in my wildest dreams would I expected that the third pipe was what I was looking for, it was meant to be. Payment made and it will be in the mail tomorrow when the wait begins. banjo

An interesting, exotic looking pipe, not bad at all. I bet it smokes pleasant enough. Never heard of the maker but fine pipe nonetheless.

An absolute perfect fit for you, it would seem, and a proud member of any pipe collection.

What did it cost you, buying direct from The Doc?
The retail prices @ SmokingPipes.com are nuts.

Well, I can’t directly say what the final cost was but there is a very substantial savings buying directly from the Doc, makes sense since he’s paying the dealer to represent and handle the sale so I’m guessing he makes less selling through the dealer. I don’t want that to be a cop out answer but what the Doc and I came to terms with for the pipe may not be what another could get especially if you’ve transacted directly with him in the past and have an established relationship. banjo
