Youbetcha.......and I received a coupon in the mail for buy one burger platter at Ruby Tuesday’s , get the second platter “ free “! I know there are better burgers, maybe even Hardee’s, but it’s nice to sit down and get served once in a while. Plus it’s what I can afford right now👍👍

I had no idea today was National Cheeseburger Day. The important things you learn here in the Patch.
Fortunately, I brought home two nice Angus patties, 80 percent lean and nicely formed.
This being New Mexico, a green chili is indicated. Melt the cheese and place a nice fat chili on top.
No bun here, so it will be whole wheat toast. A Patty Melt.

I chickened out and got a steak sandwich for lunch - smothered in peppered sauce. I still want a cheeseburger now though!

“ Patty Melt “....sounds perfect 👍. I believe “ Friendly’s “ served the original patty melt. Which is now known on here as the “ Paddy Melt “ !!

You guys are remarkable. Take something as innocuous as Cheeseburger Day and turn it around into something else. The creativity here is astounding.

As a loyal American, the Cheeseburger rates high with me. However, I have to confess that after 20 years living in New Mexico, given a choice, I prefer tacos. This realization came to me recently.

I just love how Cheeseburger day is so much more appreciated than yesterday. I guess a trip to Hippo Burger is in order.

Hoping to swing by Burger Batch here in Winston since I’m here for work anyway. They are a small brewery that decided to make amazing food while they were at it!

I wonder if that is anything like the old Hippo that was in San Francisco years ago. About 100 different hamburgers served and all of them great. Perhaps not. The S.F. Hippo closed in 1987. 1950-1987. A real institution. Mushroom Burger on crusty sourdough French bread, a Bernaise Burger. They had about anything imaginable.

Local greasy hole in the wall strip center that makes about 5 varieties and 3 kinds of fried. Not even any milkshakes. But perfect hamburgers.

Nice, high end gourmet burgers, and these. They are equally wonderful. My favorite hole in the wall burgers are from a place in Sylva NC. Name escapes me atm. Edit: it was B and Al’s!
