Sadly, the politicians no longer abide by it, and they delegate authority to bureaucrats that are unaccountable to the voter. The system of checks and balances are sadly a quaint notion.... The trajectory we are on, along with a populace that is pretty ignorant about such basic principles, it does not bode well for our future.
