Very different ^^^^^^^^ Cobs John. Did you make them or your going to purchase both? The bottoms of both look like they were finished with a piece of hardwood.

I made both of the shanks. The nose warmer is for a pipe club member. The other is supposed to be a cutty , think i missed the mark

As a proud owner of a couple of John's custom cobs, I can say he does great work! My tobacco drying plate that I use 90% of the time is also made by John along with a couple of tampers.  |

I'm proud to say that I agree with the above...my drying plate is used every time I need to dry and I have a couple of tampers to choose from. That's why I asked the question earlier - I could tell John's work.
I like the effect it brings to the pipe.
