Last winter about a week or so at -20C, but most of the time -10 to -5. September through mid-November it’s beautiful, weather and visually. Ron, I love East Texas, ridden motorcycles all over the area. Good people out there. I hope you find it pleasant and it fuels your creative engine!I think that is what we are all hoping for. We need Ron to start making his outstanding pipes and making people happy once again. I think making pipes is what makes Ron happy too. So...lots of prayers for the success of Ron's trip back home. Thank you both, as ornery as I am making people happy is what I like to do the most for some dadburn reason.  Making pipes to that is secondary, if I didn't have to make them to subsidize my income I'd like making them much more. Its like a love hate relationship, I love doing it but, hate having to do it.

UPDATE: Left Utah Friday afternoon and arrived 28 hours later in Texas on Saturday night and I spent the night at a sorta relatives house on the couch.
I have tombstones in my eyes since I've had little sleep caused by, I reckon just nerves. Sunday I went to see the house I rented for the first time. I opened the door to a stench that was between a filthy litter box and mold, and it still hasn't left. Nothing was really cleaned, grease on appliances, insect eggs in frig and various marks and dirty hand prints on walls. But, I leave the best parts out, NO WATER, it was shut off because of the leaks and the whole house was sinking giving way to cracks on the outside you could put your hand into. Finally Wednesday (and he's been working on it since the beginning of the week before) the So Called repairman fixed them and hooked the hot water heater up to find the toilet wouldn't flush. I call him So Called Repairman because when I asked if he had a basin wrench he looked at me like I had a 3rd eye confirming he knew little to nothing about plumbing (me being a plumber in 79 and the 80"s) That and I actually watched him dump the half full commode tank on the bathroom floor and he did this 3 times on top of other things he did that gave his ignorance away and lack of respect he has. And by the way, all this time I had to either hold what I had to do or go down the the Laundry Mat down the road and use there's when open. Landlord apologized and suggested I go to a Motel 6 and he'd reimburse me. I told him NO because what I walked into told me I should not be so trustworthy of this character. I asked him if he was going to replace the lavatory (bathroom sink) because of the rotted out over flow as big as a child fist and he stated LATER. Obviously a natural born slum lord. No I haven't unpacked much, only what I need till I see what the Yahoo of a landlord has to say to my face this weekend. I say he either fixes Everything including the stench or I get ALL my money back and he can try and stick this hole of his on someone else, of course right after I notify Texas state board of housing that I'm sure will want to talk to him about his practices.
There 's much more of this story but, I won't go into just because its just too time consuming and the more I think about it the more peeved I get.

rdpipes, I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't believe that places like that are being let out to people. You could do without that stress and annoyance. I hope it's sorted to your satisfaction.

Just shaking my head as I read that, Ron. While no longer surprised by these less than human antics, I'm still always amazed. It would take great control for me to not pummel this dirtbag. All the best wishes to you during this frustrating and trying time, my friend.

Go back and take pictures of this rat hole from this slumlord. Once you find another place to live take that piece of crap to small claims court and I’m sure a judge will have some “ pleasant “ words for him and you’d win the maximum amount allotted in your State.
All the best to you, hopefully you’ll find a place that suits your needs within a few days👌👍👍👍

Took photos and talked to the landlord on the phone today and he's not so happy after hearing what I had to say.
I wasn't nasty to him just firm and exact and he said he'd be over Sunday afternoon after he gets back from his cruise (must be nice).
Anyway, that's the way it stands as of now. Don't have any other place to go so, I have to stay here at least till I find another place
or he agrees to take care of everything substandard around here and realizes I'm not subhuman or use to living in a Filthy Sty.

I had a landlord that told me once that people think too much of cleanliness and I seen his place once but, only once. Also had a few friends years ago that you wouldn't want to even sit down in there house much less enter it. And some think nothing of opening a drawer and having a dozen cockroaches run out. Thank the Lord I wasn't brought up that way. |

I know of a "Park Model" that will be going
up for sale in El Val Del Sol in
Mission,Tx.That's clear down at the tip,
and in a trailer park/retirement center.
I can attest to the cleaning and repair,
my Mother in law is a retired chemist/teacher.
She doesn't put up with bugs of any kind.

The Landlord came over today and was very apologetic and we sorted things out. Seems the So Called repairman was suppose to have taken care of the cleaning and everything else that was substandard and didn't. Good thing is I'll never have to see that idiot again and things are on there way to be taken care of by real repairmen. And I also told him I'd take care of few things if he supplies me with the items to do so. And he even said he'll only charge me $600 for next month for what I had to go through. I'm happy with the arrangements made and can finally start unpacking. All in all it was a rocky start and a understandable misjudgement of him by me.

Thanks guys, pretty thankful myself. Can't handle stress like I use to anymore and I was certainly at my limit there.
A lot of things have happen in the last 8 months that have just beaten on me and I was beginning to wondered how much more I'd be able to take.
It's good to breath easy again and look forward to getting things put back together.
