I have five Savinellis: - Oscar Smooth Billiard (My late father's. It's well used and needs to be restored to be smokable.),
- Hercules Smooth Billiard,
- Rusticated 320 KS Author,
- Rusticated Bing's Favorite, and
- Alligator 320 KS Author.
All are great smokers. I'd like to add a pot and a prince at some point.

Just got this today, third Savinelli I own. No cake and smoked amazing out the package. I love the aesthetic. Also got this Oom Paul recently, which smokes even my more wet blends amazingly with not a single gurgle yet. Only good experiences with Sav

Out of all the factory pipes, I have heard of a consistency in Savinelli's by smokers that leave all the others in the dust. I have only one newly purchased Sav, a Bing's favorite, and I have three estate pipes, all see regular use and all are fine smokers. I gifted a Savinelli to JohnR that looked like Chesty Puller took it on every military campaign that he ever encountered...that briar had been to hell and back...John put the elbow grease to it and he enjoys it as a smoker...he did a great job rescuing it. Pretty fine gift, and I can believe that JohnR has the skill to bring such a pipe back from the brink. I have a number of Sav's, but my favorite by far is the Bing's Favorite. I have a rusticated one, and was *this* close to pulling the trigger on a smooth when a friend gifted me one. Bless people's generosity!

It wasn’t much about generosity... this was a pipe that rode a hard road... more of a testament to JohnR bringing a Briar from the clutches of the grim reaper!
Your kind comments are not lost though, thanks!

He would of had a 7 day rotation but he gave me 2, YES gave me 2. You think I'm generous. LOL! Back at you, brother. I’ve got quite a few mailbox surprises from the feller ironically name Scrooge.

I have but one Savinelli, but I've had it 35+ years. My first "upscale" pipe. A 114 KS Sherwood Rock Briar. It still smokes great, but I need to do something about that stem!

My new/old Sav Long John I recently restored. I’m firing it up for the first time now. Fingers crossed, it’ll be a good smoker. It’s a Savinelli. Of course it’ll be a good smoker.

...this is an unpopular opinion, but every Savinelli I've owned and smoked has been... less than satisfactory... and I have owned and smoked many over the years... Different strokes for different folks. My unpopular opinion is that Petes don’t grab me. Same here.

Savinelli Series III Unfinished smooth Billiard....900 plus smokes....it’s fugly but an excellent smoker. Only other two I have with me here in Knightdale are my 2 recently purchased Savinelli Unfinished pipes......have more in Clayton. I really like both of these. Great shapes and I'm intrigued by the natural finish. 👍

Dave, superb restoration as always 👍👌👍. That style Savinelli always intrigued me, the long shank with a very short stem. May it give you many years of smoking pleasure!!!

I too have too many Savs to even hazard a guess at the quantity. Going out on a limb I would say no fewer than 15. With my Savs as well as with most of my briars, I prefer the classic shapes. I love the Porto Cervo 802 smooth canadians (hard for me to find them in smooth model), the 320 authors and this Savinelli Punto Oro Classic 606 ks bent billiard. I have a Savinelli Hercules Smooth 320 EX coming soon, and it looks promising.

It seems that the 320 is the winning shape by far... And I can see why. One for the list, methinks.

I find all Savs to be very good values, but these top line Punto Oros and Punto Oro Golds have nothing to envy the higher end brand names, imo.

As most of you know here, almost all of my pipes are estates that I've refurbed. That being said, the Sav's I have all fall into that category, estates that is... ;-) Also have another 320 KS on the way, recently acquired from a member here. ;-)

The first one is my unfinished 404 that was nice enough to finish. The second is an unfinished 644KS that had too many fills to bother finishing. Somehow I lost the 644. (how the hell do you lose a pipe, especially a favorite?) Damn it. I loved that pipe and really miss it

There must be something seriously wrong with your taste buds! (or you might just be a little bit outside the norm) 🤠😎😁😨
