I have many (7), not as many as johnlawitzke however here’s my best looking one. it was the first Punto Oro Natural 321 offered in the USA. Sometimes it pays to talk to the distributor in person...

Here's the 320 KS herd, the dirty half dozen on right. Far left standing at attention is a 2000 Collection. Good example of my weekly rotation. I'd probably be fine if these were my only briars.

I have 16 Savinellis. I’ll try and take a few group shots to post in the next couple days as it would take quite a while to post individual pictures.

...this is an unpopular opinion, but every Savinelli I've owned and smoked has been... less than satisfactory... and I have owned and smoked many over the years...

I learning more and more that it's not one size fits all. There's a kind of marriage between the pipe and the pipe smoker. Some get along, others don't.

Savinelli Series III Unfinished smooth Billiard....900 plus smokes....it’s fugly but an excellent smoker. Only other two I have with me here in Knightdale are my 2 recently purchased Savinelli Unfinished pipes......have more in Clayton. WOW, Ted...that middle one got hit with the fill gun...didn't realize that the Sav's had that much fill in any one pipe. Hate fills.

Walt, a total of 11 big fills......sent to me by none other than P&C just over 5 years ago. It’s a superb smoker....P&C should have sold the pipe as a Savinelli throw-out!! Because I had coated the briar with my bee’s wax mixture they would NOT exchange the pipe! It did develop a nice dark rich color due to the fact I rub the pipe down with my mixture after each use. The fills really stick out, but it’s a superb “ FUGLY “ smoker. Never did business again with P&C. The pipe is 32 smokes away from 1,000 uses👍👍👍👍👍

I've had quite a few Savinelli's over the past years 35 years. I like them but for some reason I keep selling them after awhile. They don't smoke bad for me, I just grow tired of the style or looks. So for now here's the three I have. From the top, an unfinished bent pot, an Octavia panel, and a Giubileo d'Oro 320ks. Oddly the unfinished pot gets the most use.

I find that Sav’s fill putty really stands out as a pipe darkens from use. I take an ultra fine point black Sharpie and color over the fill. Let sit 48 hours. Some of the black will wear off with handling but it darkens the fill enough to not be noticeable.

I’m going to take your advice and cover up the 11 fills with a black sharpie. Like you stated....it will wear off and will look better then the light fills for sure👌👍

Out of all the factory pipes, I have heard of a consistency in Savinelli's by smokers that leave all the others in the dust. I have only one newly purchased Sav, a Bing's favorite, and I have three estate pipes, all see regular use and all are fine smokers.
I gifted a Savinelli to JohnR that looked like Chesty Puller took it on every military campaign that he ever encountered...that briar had been to hell and back...John put the elbow grease to it and he enjoys it as a smoker...he did a great job rescuing it.
