GQ Tobacco's Askwith Kake, freshly thrown together by me the week of 7/6/2018
Pipe of choice: restored to mint condition a Chubby Olde London pot with a slight bend to this wide comfortable stem. A really nice old piece of Algerian briar makes this pipe an excellent smoker👌👍👍

I am smoking G.L.Pease Telegraph Hill in a Savinelli 320EX.
Never tried this before. I am loving this.
I am not good at teasing out all the flavors, and identifying which leaves they are from. Not enough experience and not enough discernment.
To me this tastes dark and warm. What is interesting is that I notice and love the aftertaste. In fact it seems like the aftertaste of each puff some how enhances the flavor of the next. It reminds me of a restaurant I was in years ago where I ordered something called Butter Steak. It was a regular steak, like a rib eye cut, done medium rare, mildly spiced, and drenched in clarified butter. I never would have thought to try it, but wow it was good. I remember feeling tempted to order another one to take back to my hotel.
So Telegraph Hill is something like that. If you have cholesterol issues or are worried about arteriosclerosis, G.L.Pease Telegraph Hill is a much safer alternative.
Enjoy.

Relaxing after a wonderful creamy parmesan one pot chicken and rice dinner with a slice of cinnamon raisin cake for dessert. Now smoking Prince Albert Choice in a 1980s White Pipe straight, smooth octagonal paneled billiard meerschaum with an acrylic yellow cream colored saddle stem. Both pipe and tobacco were gifted to me today by a good friend. Watching a Hopalong Cassidy movie.

Finishing this bowl of Telegraph Hill. I am very impressed. In addition to my previous attempt at a description I can add that there is an aroma/flavor of an open fire, like a charcoal fire grilling steaks. It seems more prominent in the last third of the bowl.
This blend will become one of my regulars. Along with Viprati, Romboche S.J., Telegraph Hill provides a delicious option when I occasionally take a momentary excursion from my Billy Budd Blonde.
It really is delightful that there are such flavorful blends to chose from. We are truly alive in a golden age of tobacco blends.

Thanks, Lady M. The tamper was made for me by a member of a former other forum...before I got here. Was carved out of some kinda burl. I have a collection of about 20 tampers half of which I made from wood I found in the yard after the "storm".
