I purchased 3 tins of Frog Morton's Froggie On The Town for $150.00 dated circa 2001.
The serial number number on the bottom is 460901.
ITS THE SAME ON ALL THREE TINS.
Is this normal ?

Not a serial number, more like a batch code....On classic, standard McC production, the first two numbers are the blend code (#46), the second two are the batch number for the year (09), the last two are the year (01).

Thank you. I did not know that. I appreciate the wisdom. I was a little concerned buying off e-bay. Wasn't sure. Thank you for the clarification. Now I will just have to stop myself from smoking it all...

All of the McClelland tins I have ever seen have a date stamped right on the bottom (last two digits). Is that what you are referring to Charlie?

Hold on y'all. Before passing judgement, I'd really like to see what a tin of 2001 Frog Morton looks like?

Hold on y'all. Before passing judgement, I'd really like to see what a tin of 2001 Frog Morton looks like? Wouldn't look any different than the tins from other years except for the number on the bottom. š
