I don’t have any, but it might fit the bill for grabbing a smoke before you head out the door, and don’t want to reek like smoke. I am not a heavy smoker by any stretch, but the wife and kids still tell me that they are surprised that a visible cloud isn’t drifting in my wake... especially on the lat blends. A simple shop coat or a lab coat like they wear in an industrial setting might do the trick, but I am wondering if certain fabrics lend themselves better to the job? I am not ostentatious enough to want to look like Cary Grant in a 40’s movie... doesn’t help that I don’t look like him.

I have a flannel jacket that I wear when the weather cools off that keeps the smoke out of my clothes for the most part.
It wasn't going to be a smoking jacket per say, but I burned a good size hole in it with some flying pipe dottle within the first few weeks of owning it so that pretty much sealed the deal.

Smoking jacket you say, your lucky if I wear pants while smoking a pipe indoors.....lol. I do have two older jackets that I wear outdoors in the colder weather, they both have tiny holes from burning embers from those windy days. So, I guess you can say those are considered smoking jackets, I’d never wear either in public.

Can't say it's even crossed my mind.
As long as I dont smell like B.O. I'm good to go. And that is never since I put deodorant on twice a day.

I'm too old to care how I smell! I'm with Dramatwist on this. I don't go out much as it is...don't really care for people...except the folks here...they are special to me. Other than that, my wife doesn't care and my dog loves me no matter what. What else do I need in life but that. Yeah, fat man clothing...I don't guess I need it yet at 120#s.

The only "smoking jacket" I could say I have is an old Harris Tweed jacket that over the years has now got burn holes from burning embers from my pipe when I light it! I wear the jacket outside and have had other pipe smokers ask me if I smoke a pipe even when I don't have one out and am smoking it. I'd ask them how they knew and they'd say ".... your jacket "

Too hot in Florida most of the time to wear any kind of a jacket, smoking or otherwise! That is too true. A jacket in this humidity is asking for a stroke.

My wife has a nose like a bloodhound...she has the sensitivity of smell like one too. and she hates the smell of smoke on clothing. I've thought of a smoking jacket to at least keep my clothes from smelling of smoke. I usually smoke outside so my clothes don't normally smell. In the colder days I wear a body warmer and an old coat that stays in the garage so I don't mind if it smells of smoke. In a sense I do have a smoking jacket, but not an official one. I like the thought of having one though.

None for me.
I do have a couple of old jackets I throw on when it gets chilly and I'm smoking outside. But they're more for convenience (they keep me warm and have some handy pockets for a lighter/tamper) than for keeping the smell off my clothes.
I like smelling like a pipe when I'm away from home. It's a great repellent for keeping fussy, uptight, judgemental people away.

Someone needs to look at the price of smoking jackets. I believe you could have one personally tailored cheaper than you can buy one

I pretty much only smoke outside or in my car - it is a smoking vehicle - rarely in the house. When it is super hot outside I wear an old tee -shirt. When it is moderate, I add a long sleeved blue denim shirt from Land's End that I've had for so long the collar is completely frayed and it "is not to be worn in public" (according to my fashion and menu adviser). When it is cold, I have a work jacket that hangs in the garage that is pressed into service. When it is really cold, I have a parka that fills the bill. So, as it turns out, I have a smoking ensemble.

I'm in the great lakes and winter wonderland state and have a series of dedicated jackets and coats for the late fall and winter smoking. The garage was unheated until this last winter, but it now has a 125k btu jet engine like lpg heater that doesnt have a good vent. I've been given the nod by swmbo to smoke at my computer if theres a fan present and a window open. I'll be purchasing said fan soon. Even then it will only be a tobacco on the approved list that gets burned in there. I've been with her for 11 years I know better than to look a gift horse in the mouth.

There's not much of a need for a smoking jacket in modern times. We have more shits and everyone has a washer/dryer or there is a laundromat nearby. As a result, we wear a shirt once then toss it in the hamper. Up until the mid 20th century this wasn't an option.

I have a smoking hoodie. When I was smoking in the 60's, most every thing I sat on smoked.

Don't even try to plead innocence to what you're being accused of, because your judge is Torquemada. No one has ever been able to Torquemada anything. Badda Boom!

I like the thought of having one though. Yeah, situations aren’t that often where I would feel the need to wear one, but recently I was at a friend’s daughter’s recital and I was shoulder to shoulder with others, and I doubt that people there were offended by my smokiness, but just as I don’t want to sit next to a woman that drenched herself in perfume, I can see where people at such a setting might not want to sit next to a guy that smells like he has been sitting next to a Latakian campfire all night.
