I was picked up a used Falcon a year and a half ago. Before I even got it a guy nicked Fluffy over at Magazonia sent me a much nicer one as a gift. The older one had a weak bit that I didn't want to ruin. Clue to all: EA Carey is one of the only ones who keeps the large Softies in stock. Small ones are good for very little. Anyway, these softies are always riding up the stem, and the end with the rim makes clenching not only a bouncy experience, but it makes you draw air in on about every puff. Someone here mentioned putting them on in reverse. It is not riding up. Clenching is a joy, and I am one puffing sonofagun. Thanks much. David

If the stem is narrow towards the button the rubber softies work well used backwards. Took me time to get use to them, but I’ve not put a hole in the bottom of any of my stems since using them. You can also use rubber tubing sold in different sizes at Home Depot or Lowe’s Hardware.

Such a simple technique that can make such a difference. I'm happy it worked for you.
