I haven’t smoked any Wilke blends for a few years. My favorites were no 10 and no 400. I don’t like saying bad things about anyone, so I’ll just say I didn’t care for Carole. So please let me know what you like and why?
Thank you

Good morning Sam ^^^^^^^^ Hope today finds you feeling well 👍👍
My favorite Wilke blend believe it or not is a sweet honey aromatic #191. Smokes smooth with no bite and leaves a very pleasant taste to my palate. At times I’ll have two bowls in a day.

It didn't sound like they had too many non-Aro / non-Lat blends to me ... haven't tried any of them yet. Besides, taking on a new blender at this point would be like adding water to a creek.

If anyone has some Nut Brown Burley still, I'd love to try it. Plenty of goodies to send in return!

John Brandt is very nice. The only Wilke blends I like are the ones that I have tried. #191 #10 #400 #515 Rumcake Mettowee Cherry Cavendish Rumcake Best Make Pipemakers Choice Vermont Maple Cavendish Are all first class blends. They may or may not be to your taste, but you will find quality tobacco in all of them.

It was really special. Fortunately, I discovered Sutliff ERR Match.

It's why I've not tried to chase the unicorn on stuff like McClelland and Esoterica. I was a month too late getting back into pipes, and I've never had any of it. It's like the song "Pictures of Lily", by The Who.

It's more of a curiosity thing, really. Having not tried Wilkes at all, I'd prefer to try one that sounds right up my alley. I'm not gonna chase any unicorns. Plus, someone could end up with an unobtainable sample in return.

Before Carole sold Wilke to John Brandt, she had re-released Nut Brown Burley. I jumped at the opportunity to try this blend as many had spoken of it in sacred tones.
Personally, I wasn't all that impressed. I know she had to re-source components which were no longer available, which had led to the initial discontinuation, but I found there were better Burley blends out there. Shortly after that, she discontinued it again. I suspect she wasn't impressed with the quality of the components that she re-blended it with. She was a stickler for quality.

Thanks, Justin! Knowing you're a fellow Burley-o-phile, I appreciate that feedback.

That's the problem. The original ingredients are no longer available.
