So, I took the plunge and picked up my first Falcon after reading everything here and at other forums about them. I have smoked it a couple of times so far, and I have a couple of questions. So how often do you swap out the circular pipe cleaner that goes under the bowl? Every smoke, every other smoke, so on and so forth. Also, is there a manufacturer of bowls besides Falcon that anyone recommends? Not that I want one, I'm just curious. I will be getting a meer bowl soon to add to the collection. Thanks!

VERY nice pipe. Congratulations on your new burner. Lonecoyote can probably direct you to who makes the best bowls for that pipe.

I replace the Dry Rings when they become "tarry" and moist.

To find extra bowls there are several places where you can find them. I think WVsmokeshop has them, briars and meers. For the rings you can cut your own from pipe cleaners. I don't use filters so I can't help you.

Lol rings we don't need no stinking rings. Dgehandmadepipes.com makes falcob bowls of varying shapes. I have one and love it. I don't have a meer bowl but want one for my white stemmed shillelagh. I don't pay close enough attention to other makers, but theres a guy from the uk on ebay that has a good deal listed on 8 or 10 falcon bowls for around 200 usd shipped. All mine are estates with the exception of the falcob bowl they are fairly easy to find and clean.

I replace the Dry Rings when they become "tarry" and moist. As I do and I also wipe under the bowl after every use. Look at Don Warren Custom Made bowls for your Falcon. He makes some incredible Morta bowls...I own two...plus others from the maker. You won’t be disappointed. Enjoy your new Falcon👍👍👍

Now, I am a traditionalist, so the idea of a metal pipe, although they go way back in pipe history, never really appealed to me. But, since you guys made them sound like a "must have" for my stable, I bought one. And, I AM sold on them. I love mine. It's a straight shank in black with a rusticated meer bowl. It has now come one of my favorite pipes. Its smokes incredibly cool, is light and amazingly easy to clean.
I feel like an idiot buying a few bags of the rings, before I realized they were essentially cut up filters. I change mine after every smoke. Sometimes, the brain runs a little show. I have been buying everything from Amazon, including smooth meer bowl. My buying another one is only a matter of time.

Bought this one on the internet, don’t remember where. I've never seen a ... stackoln ? before.
How does it clench, weight-wise? Is the falcon bend deep enough to make it comfortable?

I have no experience with this pipe but Im hoping to soon. With that said, after a lot of research I know that those who like using the dry rings, many use pipe filters they bend and cut to size.
I hope by end of the month if not next, I'll have a personal idea.

I’ve even used a small piece of rolled paper towel....sucks up all moisture well every time 👍

I've had two Falcons for the last 10 years and don't use the pipe cleaner in it. I just finish my smoke, put a cleaner down the stem, let the bowl cool the unscrew it and wipe out the cup under the bowl with a paper towel screw the bowl back on, take the cleaner out of the stem and put it up till it's next smoke. Works for me !
