Regarding the recent disagreements...
My belief is that if someone posts something that irritates you for whatever reason, the best course of action is to ignore the post, scroll down and move on.
Personally, I have been guilty of failing to follow this advice in the past, but I am a human being and therefore imperfect.
If a particular post "gets your goat", PM the person, cuss at each other and/or work it out... public shaming should not be part of this forum.
As Sir Ringo Starr always says...

I think I missed it completely because I was up until 5am last night and didn't notice a damned thing! I think people in this country need to cool it, in general. Everyone is always at each others throats it seems like.
I tend to avoid drama. Or try to make light of it and add humour to the situation.
Whatever. Its time for some Twisted Sister again.

I used to do the same thing at original ASP (no moderation) when trolls/other low lifes invaded the place. Folks would leave cause of it, I sure no techie in any way but daummn, can't they just check "header", the scroll to next "header". Nobody ain't a gonna drive me away from that old place, 'tho the only one left, still post my lousy .02 worth. Seems to me could do the same here. Just scroll on by...shouldn't take an advanced IT degree from any techie college to do that.

Huzzah! Written communication can often be legitimately interpreted to mean something different than what the writer thought they were saying. A couple weeks ago david and I had such an occurrence of miscommunication. A few quick PMs later, we were back in sync. Plus, we had actually had the same thoughts on the core issue that we had miscommicated about. Our miscommunication never included personal attacks. Personal attacks are never acceptable. My habit is to vehemently defend any of my friends if they are personally attack. However, I will defend and not attack back. |

Thank you Dramatwist...I think the gentlemen in question just weren't thinking that day...I've been guilty myself of not thinking of the "other" person....and like I said earlier...just move on. I like everyone on here..even the cantankerous ones..to the point that I invited two folks from PM over to lurke...and maybe at a bad time you might think..nope, couldn't be at a better time..because you, Drama, took the initiative to start this thread, and the others who have chimed in. We have a slice of heaven right here. Sparks has put together such a user friendly site and drawn in the best of the best. I'm proud to be here after being on only 3 other forums. I'm proud of the way the members pony up to the problem and solve it rather than "standing your ground" to coin a deathly phrase. Thanks guys, now you've made me proud to have invited Weez and Condorlover to visit our slice of heaven..the best that humanity has to offer....and thanks Sparks for creating a place of peace for all.

Well it sounds like to me a bunch of BS to me. Gentlemen this an gentlemen that. What ever happened to being a man. Just get each others addresses in a PM of course got to follow the rules. an meet half way between your 2 states an kick the SH-T out of each other. That's how real men do it.
Other wise keep your whining an wimpy verbal abuse towards each other private. The rules again. Most of us are hear to enjoy the Brotherhood of the Briar. IMO

Yeah, Ted...I try not to think about that spot..l.we all have some history there...used to be a nice place, but attitudes entered and it all went down hill.
