This is a pipe I’ve been looking for and finally found one that restored well....much better then I thought it would due to the rim damage and cake build up in the chamber. The rim issue was over an 1/8” of tar. The chamber had so much cake that once I cleaned it properly it ends up the chamber walls have no damage. Looks like this pipe has never been cleaned. Hand tools, different grit sandpaper and micro mesh, Dremel with White Diamond & Carnauba wax was used to finish the briar. The stem I restored by hand using a microfiber cloth with Tormek paste and Flitz. Final buffing of stem was done with my mixture of bee’s wax and mineral oil. No chatter on the stem...it’s perfect!! Notice how crisp the nomenclature remained....not over worked. The pipe is from the Imperial series and was handmade either ‘51 or ‘52. I’ll admire the pipe for a few days then I’ll smoke one of my favorite tobacco’s and enjoy the smoke immensely👌👌👍👍👍

That turned out very handsomely indeed.
I don't think I've ever seen this shape / finish on a Yello-Bole, either, so that's an extra bonus. An unusual piece restored to good working condition.

Thanks for your comments. This is a pipe I’ve looked for, for many years!! It’s a rare handmade, which was confirmed by Frank from Kaywoodie. He’s helped me a few times. Extremely friendly knowledgeable gentleman 👌👍👍👍

Extremely friendly knowledgeable gentleman 👌👍👍👍 Wow, I had no idea there were Yello-Bole handmades. I own two other Yello-Bole handmade pipes. Those too are carved briars. I have them in storage containers since moving to NC. I need to dig them out one day. Either smoke’em or gift’em....both beauties!!

After a few days I’ll be smoking some Rattray’s Black Mallory from the 70’s👌👍👍. Right now I’m just admiring the pipe.....no fills!!

Ted.. I have 3 or 4 yello-boles from the 50's not a one has filled...great smokers all. Yello-Bole pipes were made with briar seconds from Kaywoodie.....KB&B. Only Yello-Bole I have with one small fill was my original Pug from ‘68. The pipes that were made in the 50’s were made with briar well aged....30 years plus👍
