Mathew......that’s why I’ll remain single. I can do for myself. A good marriage should be 50/50. My last marriage of 12 years was 85/15....with me giving 85% at all times. Still my wife at the time wanted more! All four times she had surgery I was by her side. Once I became disabled in 2011 she stated many times “ every time you see a doctor you end up triggering my asthma “! So, she moved to another room. Was never there for me. She was served with her walking papers and there was no looking back once I left. I’m much happier now by myself 👍

Personally, I like doing things for my wife...but I'm a lucky guy. All others have their own ideas of marriage. I've been fortunate that my third and last happened. My first was a mistake and my second was a "gift" and I was fortunate to find the right person for her. Life can be interesting.

I was Best Man at my 1st ex's wedding... better him than me. My 2d X still calls wanting back in after 20 years of icebox marriage with her hubby... I warned em both. Got out of that one by the skin of my teeth, thank you Geebus! Anyway, my prime has passed... se' la vie... que sera sera...

This was a spoof published in Mad Magazine or a similar magazine years ago.
My wife and I have had each other's back for 42.5 years. Inseparable through cancer, financial ruin, and heartbreak. I try to be the best husband I can to live up to her example.
