I'm not looking for new friends, but I did grab a few blends this week that I have never tried (but always wanted to).
First was Davidoff flake medallions. I'm already a big fan of bullseye flake and DNRs, so this one was kind of a no brainer. It performed as expected. Sweet-ish with the typical hay and bready flavors. Defiantly a VA forward blend (which I like). This is a solid keeper worthy of cellaring in quantity.
Three Nuns Green. I am a novice, but this one reminds me of Doblone D'oro. Spicey and cedary that should be a perfect blend for the fall. A worthy option if you are looking for something new.
This brings me to GL Pease Stratford. Wow, I did not see that one coming. What a fantastic virginia forward ribbon blend. I am a flake guy so I had relatively low expectations that this would blow my hair back, boy I was wrong. From the very first light, I knew that this was a winner and it only got better as the bowl progressed. This has shot right to the top of my list of favorites. Only one other tobacco has ever made me turn my head like that, and it was Dunbar. This is a fantastic blend.

I’ve smoked five year old and 10 year old Stratford. It ages incredibly well.

I have not, but I have 1 old can of that as well. I have 6 or 7 old cans of various Pease blends that I bought to try one day. Maybe around the holidays I may break that one out for something special.
