Its one of the Middleton otc's of which ive spent some time with,in fact it was the first I tried. Just picked up a box today and was wondering who else lets prince Albert out of the can now and again. I've noticed the new box and pouch of the original look to be that of the vanilla cherry version. And I think the cut has changed, any thoughts or words of praise for the prince?

I haven't kept tabs lately, but peterd-Buffalo Spirit seems to have smoked it more than occasionally. In my limited usage, it's one of those blends, like a couple match blends, that when you don't have your pipe as fresh as possible seems to take on a burnt oil or chemical taste. Granger was similar. I make sure I clean my pipes well, even if pretty clean. That said, then they are groovy

I don't know how you can go wrong with Prince Albert... it's such an easy pleasant smoke...

I wont turn down the prince in a pinch, but I get chemical tastes from it if I smoke it more than once in a while.

… smoke it regularly as well as Sutliff Match version...some changes have occurred over the years but I find it still fairly close to what I started out with in 1960...I do think more humectants are used today...

I've always got a pouch of Prince Albert around. It's a great on the fly tobacco. Good all day smoke.

PA reminds me of the smell of cigarettes, can’t smoke this blend.

My first exposure to PA was my neighbor who was from West Texas and always had a tin in his pocket with a pack of Bugler rolling papers for his cigs. All I ever saw it being used was as a RYO cig tobacco! Wasn't till I got to the U. of S. Vietnam where I saw some guys from N. Carolina smoking it in a pipe! Sadly I won't be able to smoke 'cause of the Burley in it. Burley and I don't do well !

I like Prince Albert. I also like Prince Albert Soft Vanilla. Mild vanilla flavor that is just right when I want an aro that doesn't overpower.

I’ll be the heretic in this thread... I dislike Prince Albert but love H&H Prince Andrew.

Not one to hold it against someone about their choice of tobacco to smoke, but I can understand how anyone can help tolerate Prince Albert. As much as I enjoy smoking a pipe I would give it up if the only tobacco available was Prince Albert.

Don't smoke the stuff. But as a teenager, I would call up the local drug store and ask if they had Prince Albert in a can. When they said 'yes', I'd say 'then let him out'. Sorry, I'm surprised none's thrown this story up here yet.
