I stumbled upon these blends while searching for more virginia blends to add to my cellar. I haven't seen them come in stock for over a month, at least on SP and TP. My question is, in your opinion, are these two worth waiting around for? Monitoring the pages can be a little work.

I've not had those blends but friends of mine who have like them a lot. They use high quality leaf so I think they're worth the gamble. I did get Sillem's Black but never took to it. I can't find the latakia in it and it's too sweet for me although it does use good tobaccos. I jarred it and will revisit it in the future.

Not worth spending $22 on a 100g tin of something I probably won't like. Aromatics I usually prefer to try a sample of before buying.

I smoke both those blends on a very regular basis the tobacco used is first class and a very enjoyable smoke. I also smoke the ARO blends they are not goopy and are enjoyable as well. If you are the exploring type I would give the Mayor and Councilor or Commodore a try depending on your tastes.I like the London blend as well but it can be hard to come by at times. I do not care for the Muskeeter but it cubed cut burley and burley is not really my thing.

If I we're going to try one of the aromatics what would you recommend? My two favorite aromatics are SG Celtic Talisman and HU Take Five.

Jazz if I had to pick one ARO from the line up it would be the Black. It is a unique blend with Latakia nothing else tastes like it. Vanilla and Ligon berry flavors. If you read the reviews everyone tastes something different. If you choose a colored ARO tin make sure you have jar to put the blend in. The tins are just for show and do not seal.

I’ve got a tin of 1695 from 2015. I’ve yet to try it. Please let us know your impressions.

When I bought it, I didn’t realize it’s made with vanilla (I think). Do you find it overwhelms the tobacco?

Wolfman I don't find the toppings to be overly done the blend is a lot drier than say a WO Larsen. The tin note is excellent but does not carry to far over when smoked. One thing that stands out with Sillims is there is a lot more Virginia that most other brands of ARO's. The additives in the Copenhagen are more nutty than sweet adding to the Burley rather than trying to cover it up. As mentioned earlier the Musketeer has the least topping a very light vanilla on cube cut Burley. I suppose if a fella really likes cube cut burley straight and does not care for ARO's the Musketeer would fit the bill.

I love Burley, so I don’t think that it will be a problem. Thanks - I ll get around to the tin, one of these days.
