I don’t know... he still enjoys his whiskey sours, and enjoys his work...I think that he has a pretty rich life.

“Never continue in a job you don’t enjoy. If you’re happy in what you’re doing, you’ll like yourself, you’ll have inner peace. And if you have that, along with physical health, you will have had more success than you could possibly have imagined.”

I have no reason to doubt Mr. Carson! I bet he's right

My grandfather was a barber. Going to work was what kept him alive. Eventually his eyesight deteriorated to the point where he couldn't cut hair but he still went in everyday and swept up, honed the razors, and shat the Sh*t with the customers, while my uncle did the haircuts. He eventually had to stop because of kidney disease, he needed dialysis. It went downhill very quickly after that. It wasn't the kidney problems that killed hiim, he was doing really well on dialysis. I honestly think it was the boredom thot did him in. The man worked 6 days a week his entire life (he was apprenticed at 8 years old in Sicily to the village barber), sitting at home everyday literally killed him.

That's a great story. Why not continue to do something you love and gives you a sense of purpose - and if you're still good at it, then it's a no-brainer to me.
