I stopped by my tobacconist today and picked up a tin of Captain Earle's Mystic Blend. I actually intended to purchase a tin of Captain Earle's Honor Blend, which does contain any Latakia, but got the names crossed. I don't dislike Latakia, but hope Mystic Blend isn't a Lat bomb.
Anyone familiar with the various Captain Earle's blends and how they compare with one another?

I've never heard of it. Are you going to try it soon or let it age?

Randy, Captain Earle's Mystic Blend has some Latakia but not overwhelming like their Ten Russian’s....which I enjoy at times. Captain Earle's Mystic Blend is an excellent English blend, one you should enjoy. Post your thoughts after smoking a few bowls.....enjoy!!!

Private Stock isn't bad. I do like Ten Russians better.

Ten Russians is an outstanding lat blend. It is heavy with lat, but very smooth.

A bit off topic but.. These blends were created by my late buddy J Jones of Hermit Tobacco. J with the backing of another close friend of mine would buy up estates including tobacco. The original blends were made up of the aged bulk tobacco from the estates. He would blend and press the tobaccos in a antique press on his beloved Hermit Farm in Eastern Ohio and send them to C&D to be tinned. He would always gift my buddy who backed him a brick of his latest who brought it to our pipe club. I really miss those days and especially him. RIP J www.pipestyle.com/

I have tried both Private Stock and Night Watch. Were not my favorites. Found Private Stock a little boring. Some may like it, but not my thing.

Capt Earle's Diamond Head and Honor Blend are two very good blends from this line.
I am often surprised that they fly under the radar. They're better than some similar blends that get more run on social media. But, I'm ok with that....more for me. 😀

I've really wanted to try Nightwatch for some time now.
Is it anything like Nightcap?

I've really wanted to try Nightwatch for some time now. Is it anything like Nightcap? They are very similar. You wear them both at night - one on your head and one on your wrist. Apart from that they aren't similar at all. Actually, ignore that - I haven't a clue. This is not a helpful post.
