I've got more Peterson blends than any others and I've gotta say, there is a level of consistency with their blends that I enjoy.
I've tried many other blends too, but few of them seem to have the same standard of smoke that I get from peterson blends.
I'm limited by choice and I haven't tried as many blends as most other people here, but in MY opinion (and that's what counts to me 😉), they rank high in my list.
Does anyone else highly rate peterson tobaccos?

They're made by Orlik I believe, and orlik to me is the king of meh. However Petersons perfect plug I've heard good things about

King of meh 😂😂
As for suggestions...
For aromatics, I've found sunset breeze, connoisseur's choice great.
Old Dublin is a solid latakia forward blend.
Irish oak and nutty cut are also worth a mention.
But this is just my opinion, which counts for very little.

The older Petersons perfect plug and University Flake from 2010 and prior were excellent tobacco’s. I was recently sent a tin of University Flake from 2017....for me it was not even close. I gifted the rest of the tin less a flake and a half. For a new smoker that never enjoyed the tobacco from years prior might enjoy the newer version.....just not for me!!

I’ve done that for years, usually ends up the person I sent the tobacco to really enjoyed the blend.

Thus another fave of scrooge 6's that he sent me. A winner. The first I noted was Five Brothers. He wrote on the pouch it was his fav. I keep the pouch with the pipe collection. I got started on Peterson's from a guy named Fluffy over in Magazonia. I love the Nutty Cut. The Sweet Killarny is pretty good, but that with a few other Peterson's I just don't quite "get", but that is normal. Eventually I'll get whatever flavor is intended... then I'll write a largely irrelevant review.

I'm a fan of University flake. The only other one I have tried was St Paddy's 2018 and it was tasty, but overpowering, so I gave it to a forum buddy.

As far as Peterson goes, their saint patricks day blends are almost always spot on. And Old Dublin is my replacement for Dunhill 965. Its 95% the same thing, about.
ALSO: Their CHRISTMAS blends were always AMAZING in the past - but theyre now discontinued in the USA. New FDA rules did this. Shameful indeed.

I never detected any marzipan in their sunset breeze, but each one has kinda like a 'fingerprint' - despite my non-existent tastes, in a blind taste-test, I think I could detect a Peterson blend over another (aromatics anyway). There's something there, and whatever it is, I like it.

I used to smoke University Flake regularly. Problem was, I always smoked it in the same pipe...it ghosted it terribly and I stopped smoking it. I have a tin of Irish Flake I think about cracking now and then...I wont smoke it in the same pipe all the time though !!

S euggestions?I'm smoking a Peterson blend as I type, one of my favorite aros, Deluxe Mixture, a mixture of various vas and a light topping of vanilla/maple/walnut that allows the va's to be the predominate flavor with the topping mainly giving a nice room note and a background flavor to the vas. No burley and it smokes with no bite and finishes with a nice grey ash, no goop. I highly recomend it.

Old Dublin is an under-appreciated blend in my opinion; great stuff. Irish Flake is a fave as is Irish Oak. 3P's is an outstanding plug IMHO and still readily available in a time where other quality plugs are disappearing.

Anyone care for Wild Atlantic? Always tempted to grab a pouch. I really dig the name and pouch art. I can almost imagine sitting on a rocky cliff in western Ireland watching the sea dash itself against the rocks on a cold grey morning.

One of the few imported tobaccos readily available here on the Dark Continent. I've tried them all, but only a few remain in rotation. Regularly: Irish Flake, University Flake & 3P's. Infrequently: Old Dublin Once in a blue moon: Irish Oak & Hyde Park

The aros that I have smoked are good.. not great but good enough to buy a tin here and there.. sunset breeze..sweet killinary..nutty cut... connoisseurs choice.. they all are good for maybe one bowl before the sweetness gets to me.. I love the flavors just a bit too strong for me.. now taking some from the tin and putting it in a baggie with some straight burley does wonders. I tried irish oak back in the early 90's and wasn't too keen on it..same with University flake... maybe time to re examine that..
