I've really come to enjoy Irish Flake. Smoking it right now, in fact Founder's Choice is an excellent aro that just smack of quality and real attention to the blending art. Sunset Breeze and Sherlock Holmes on the other hand....

I used to like Irish Flake but picked some up recently and it didnt taste the same. It was a bit bland. I prefer Old Dark Fired. When I liked English blends I found Old Dublin to be a tasty sweet medium English.

I have a jar that I put up about 4 years ago. I mixed 3 Petetson blends. 2 tins each of Sherlock Holmes, Irish Oak, and Old Dublin. They smoked well when fresh. It's time to see how they aged together.

If you are looking for a solid replacement for 965 OD will hit the sweet spot for you.
I think the mistake a lot of people make is by starting with their aros, which are good, but their "English" blends are where they really excel. The latakia used is of very fine quality.

I've got more Peterson blends than any others and I've gotta say, there is a level of consistency with their blends that I enjoy. I've tried many other blends too, but few of them seem to have the same standard of smoke that I get from peterson blends. I'm limited by choice and I haven't tried as many blends as most other people here, but in MY opinion (and that's what counts to me 😉), they rank high in my list. Does anyone else highly rate peterson tobaccos? I like Peterson blends. I like the flakes, but they seem to be hard to get here in the States. I really like Old Dublin. I have 2 pounds of it in my cellar. Very smooth.
