I love the bowl with the rusticated rim.
Does anyone use a falcon as a travelling pipe?

This would have to be basically any number of my Grabow pipes, especially the Omegas and Royaltons.
I also LOVE to take my Savinelli Professor Rusticated (901) Opera pipe. The oval bowl makes it just fit nice and snug in my front jacket pockets.
Aside from that, as most people have mentioned, I bring along MM pipes a lot. Especially when I am doing something I know could potentially put my pipe in danger of falling, dropping or whatever else.

I grab a couple of my dozen plus pocket pipes(nosewarmers) when I go out traveling. Light weight decent size bowl and easy to see around while driving.

One of my MM cobs and my Savinelli 320 Trevi Rustic are what I usually grab. Other pipes are added as needed.

Well, having just come back from escaping/vacationing in Kentucky to escape the "storm"...I smoked mostly my Country Gentleman cob and the 2 Legend cobs that I painted like Paddy did. My traveling pipe(s) pretty much all of them. Couldn't decide what to leave behind to possible annihilation. Packed the McClellands tins and large jars of McClellands bulks...told my wife this was cash in case we needed it. Had a suitcase just for pipes. My favorite for traveling when I'm not running for my life is a Briar Spirit Pipe.

So glad you like it!! Kirk's heart was in everyone of his pipes. I don't have a one that doesn't smoke just perfectly and with any tobacco. I have 15 of his creations. He wasn't perfect in his execution and finishing, but he managed to pull the grain out of every block of wood. For a guy with only hand tools he did a hell of a job.

I have a few that I got from ebay that I used to learn how to restore pipes. I gave a couple away and kept one. It is a great smoker. Not bad at all for a pipe that they gave for free with a pouch of tobacco.

After smoking my inaugural smoke in my BBB straight Grain that I just had restored...I may have to rethink my earlier comment...It was a Dayummm experience. The Bertram's Pot really excelled also.
I am glad that the custodian of these pipes took such good care of them...I am looking forward to the test drives of the rest....I am guessing that this was the culled herd of a discriminating pipe smoker.
Going to Vegas soon, but I feel like i already hit the jackpot.

trailbossWow. What stunner. And nothing smokes like a straight billiard. Some of my best smokes ever were/are from my ancient BBB Own Makes. Dollar Tree stores have cloths that are much more soft than micro fiber. $1. Thick white cloth about 1ft square. I’m not sure what it’s made of, but they’re great for wiping down pipes.

I love my bones bent bulldog. I don't worry about anything happening to it and it smokes like a champ.

One of the perks of smoking cobs almost exclusively..every pipe is a travel pipe!

Maybe not my best traveling pipes, but traveling pipes nonetheless. Each of these smoke pretty well for compacts. LHS Sport models. Torpedo and vest pocket.

I have a short, bent bulldog that was given to me a few years ago. It is perfect while driving ( the only way I travel).

The two pipes that I find myself always traveling with are:
Wiley (USA) Patina freehand Hungarian Why? It hangs effortlessly, robust (Thick stem and pipe) & great smoker.
Stanwell (Danish) Hans Christian Andersen Why? The two stems add to its versatility, robust (Metal collar) & great smoker.
They compliment each other. One has a large deep bowl (My English/Balkan pipe.). The other has a smaller bowl (My Virginia & VaPer pipe.). I will leave you all to figure which is which :-).
Both are hardly compact (The Stanwell is std size but carrying the churchwarden stem is cumbersome.), but I have a four pipe leather case that can carry both plus another comfortably.
