Lately I have noticed my nicotine tolerance going down. I was breaking in a pipe using Haunted Bookshop, but I got so light headed that I switched to Lane Ready Rubbed. This hasn't happened much in the past, so I don't know what's going on. Comments?

It can be several factors and may be more than one combined. Don't even sweat it. Load what you can tolerate and enjoy.

Have food in your stomach next time. By all means....don’t inhale. Many pipe smokers however do inhale without getting light headed. I’m like Bill Clinton....I don’t inhale......EVER!!

Try a filter pipe (my new mantra for all pipe smoking woes).

djo I started off as a cigar smoker of robusto's en EMS and Maduro wrappers. Cigars that had a caramel/spicy characteristic, and one thing I learned early-on was to have a decent meal prior to firing-up. By a decent meal, I mean eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, grits, you get the picture, with coffee or milk and so forth. Lunch, a good tuna sandwich, egg salad sandwich, hamburger, salad. Dinner, well, that could be the same as above, or tri-tip, rib eye, meatloaf, fish of some sort, vegetables, etc. I've simply have learned for myself that in-order to kick back and enjoy a cigar or pipe tobacco blend (that just may be an arse kicker), that I like to do so on a somewhat satisfied stomach. That's my 3 cents for now

Oh, and a quick-fix easy remedy if things start to get out of hand: eat something sugary. Cuban cigar smokers carry around sugar cubes in their pockets just in case.

Tolerance can come and go. It does with me. Sometimes a full blast goes down well with coffee. Sometimes it lords it over the coffee. You'll get your mojo back

Did you start any new medicines?
I am an opioid pain management patient - this will make your nic tolerance bottom out.
So will a lot of seizure and nerve pain medication - like gabapentin and lyrica.
There's probably a list online of medications that have counter-indication with smoking and nicotine.

Haunted Bookshop is a good medium in strength. I remember it being somewhat random cut Perhaps you had too much perique in that bowl.

I get the same thing when smoking haunted bookshop, so I am staying away until I can build up a tolerance..

It happens to us all from time to time I am sure. I know once in a while it will get me even on a full stomach. It doesn't happen very often but it does happen.

From last month: ...lol, just some friendly advice for those who feel like they experience the sensation sometimes... trying to be helpful, rather than the somewhat judgmental response of "bogus"... thanks for reading my posts so closely...
