I use the "Recent Threads" function when I log into the forum and a number of times thereafter to update the recent posts.

Only way I view the threads is by hitting recent. The only exception is when I search for specific topics to answer questions or make sure I'm not making a second thread on the same topic.

I check Profile-> Notifications first, then Recent Threads.

When I first joined I never used it--went straight to the "Forum Index." That helped me learn where everything is. But for the last couple of months I have been using the "Recent Threads" feature almost exclusively. Essentially a carbon copy of what I did / do ... Could've just said 'ditto' but , some 1 already did - Twice .  |

I used the forum index a lot at first, still do when I’m seeing if what I’m thinking of has been talked about already. Other than that it’s the recent threads most of the time. |
