When I was young I didn't care very much for Chocolate. These days though it seems that my taste for it is growing by leaps and bounds.Lately it seems that I really love Chocolate..Are you finding that as you get older there's a particular food that you like a lot more now that you used to?

When I was younger and thru my 30’s I didn’t eat ANYTHING that had pumpkin as an ingredient, now I crave anything with loads of pumpkin. Pumpkin pie or pumpkin pudding.....yum!!!

Seems like the older we get, the more things that in the past were indispensable, the more you find that you couldn't care less. The only exception I find is a good steak. Still can't get enough of a good filet.
Speaking of pumpkin...having some pumpkin pie at this moment. Find it surprising that Walmart brands taste better than the original...Quaker Oatmeal can't hold a candle to Walmart's brand as an example.

I used to love Almond Joy but now anything that remotely smells of coconut isn't well received.

When I was a kid, I didn't care for yogurt at all. Now, I love the stuff ... especially the thick "Greek" style yogurt like Oikos or Chobani.

I didn't care much for sweets in my youth, but I now have to have something sweet every day. I believe that part of this is the aging taste buds.

I love cheese but as a kid I couldn't stand the look of cottage cheese so I would never try it. I finally tried it this year and age 47 and I love it. I was really missing out lol.

When I was younger, I wasn't a steak or potatoes person. Now, gimme a three fingers thick ribeye and a salt baked potato. Also, since I've grown up, I've found that I want to try just about anything (with the exception of cheesecake, bugs, and most custard. I've tried to like cheesecake many times, but no. Custard is a texture thing). My go to favorites now are Indian/southeast Asian, and good slow cooked peasant food. And, I'd eat the heck out of anything sweet, but blood sugars MOSTLY prevent that.

… I still like most of the things I enjoyed when younger...now however, I just don't eat very much of it...used to love going to buffet's...now, a waste of time and money...most mornings a small bowl of oatmeal or yogurt, lunch some smoked fish or oysters and crackers, dinner, usually I fix more for my son but still eat much less than I've fixed...

As Governor George Corley Wallace once remarked, in a less auspicious context, Fried Chicken Today! Fried Chicken Tomorrow! Fried Chicken Forever!
Steak does not thrill me the way it once did. My appetite for red meat, generally, is not as it was when there was more physical activity in my life. I no longer stare at cattle and drool. Mostly, I am computing hay bales per animal unit per days until Spring grazing returns.
Sweets have faded from my life. Perhaps because I so rarely find anything worth eating. The staples of yore are gone. I recall my first Hostess Twinkee and what a thrill it was. Eclairs are no longer pate choux filled with real pastry cream. The ones I find now are more like a jelly doughnut.
Swiss Chard continues to entice me to nibble on leaves in other people's gardens like some enormous caterpillar. That is good and healthy.
When it comes to potato chips, I will still knock you down and take the bag away for my selfish enjoyment. But, now the sodium leaves me feeling as though I should not have.

Mint, tomatoes, and oysters Mint just didn't care for the smell and as an adult I really like the way it smells on Theo. I hated tomatos as a kid and then I started growing them as an adult and I like mine better than the turds you get at the store. As a child I wouldn't touch oysters with a 10' pole ( why would I wanna eat a grey booger ) as a grown up I eat 24 for lunch every day we are in key west and that's every time we go

Can't say there's anything that I like now that I didn't years ago, or anything that I didn't like that I now do, but I eat a lot less. I'm satisfied with less food, and can't eat as much. My wife always complains that I'm odd because I can buy a small chocolate bar and it will last me a week (have to hide it from her).

Fresh beets. That is the first and only one that comes to mind. I have lost the desire to eat a lot of foods I used to love, however. Mostly because of how they affect me adversely.

Mustard, no matter stadium or expensive. I have since changed to appreciate nice Dijon mustard. I still hate stadium yellow mustard though.

Natural Foods. Natural Desserts. Organic. Grass Fed. Bison. As natural as possible. My main obsession is looking at ingredients lists and avoiding chemicals, preservatives, and things (in the USA) called "natural flavors". If I see "natural flavors" listed it goes back to the shelf. Occasionally ignore this at restaurants. But find I don't like restaurants anymore because I can make more wholesome and natural and tasty meals from scratch at home. I can make better steaks. Better Pizza. Better Seafood. Better Salads. 100x better by myself at home and 100% natural. It really impacts your health when you cut out all the stuff they add to these foods. You can almost get away with rarely exercising if you eat clean; look and feel great. Your body adapts positively. But a word of caution: your taste buds also adapt. After a few years of abstinance from fast food when you go back to eat Mcdonald's Chicken Mc Nuggets or Taco Bell's border burrito it will taste like the cheap crap it is and you will probably not want to eat it again. In-In-Out Burger being the ultimate exception of course.

For me seafood is a big change. I'd have had fish fingers as a kid,but not much else. I'll happily have a go at most fish now.
The other big change is biltong. When I lived in South Africa,I'd never touch the stuff, but for the last ten years or so,it's been like crack😂

As a child, I hated Chinese or Indian food. Now I absolutely love both.
I've also acquired a taste over the years. Beer tasted like urine, wine was disgusting, and I lothed olives and cheese.
Today, red wine, cheese, crackers and olives are bliss, and I love a cool refreshing beer.

For years I attended Catholic School and my best friend was the son of an Irish immigrant family. Supper every Friday at their house was Fish Fingers, boiled cabbage and boiled potatoes. No complaints, glad to get it.

Welsh Rarebit. I learned how to make it correctly. A good thing to know. Which cheese do you use? Me? I prefer Red Leicester with Walnuts. The nuts are not authentic but sure are good. A good brown ale. I have made it with Guinness Stout as that was what was on-hand but prefer Samuel Smiths Nut Brown Ale. Bell's is also good. Newcastle is ok.

Here lately I have been substituting nuts for meat works well in pasta dishes. Yeah I know pine nuts for pasta but slivered almonds are better. Candied pecans and a blue cheese wedge salad anyone. It pa cons not pea cans a peacan is something the used back before indoor plumbing.
