I watched a show tonight about Hopi Indians. The elders gathered in a special place and smoked pipes that they made. They all looked the same as if one person had made them all.A square block of wood with a round probably reed stem..The idea was that when the smoke got up into the clouds it created rain. I have my doubts about the rain, but I would really like to have one of those pipes.

I am sure if you were to come to the four corners area someone could get a pipe for you.

I tried to Google it to see what you meant, but quite a few different varieties of pipe came up.

Here is a documentary I watched a while back. You’ll understand and appreciate the Hopi Indians lifestyle. It’s definitely worth watching when you find the time.

@ , maybe Peter Buffalo Spirit will stop by and comment. It is my understanding that in the Native American Culture there are several different pipes used for certain types of events and needs. Another part of this is the tobacco or the tobacco/herb mixture and how it is smoked or not. If you do desire a pipe like this Google Native American Pipes you should find men that makes them.

From what I can tell that pipe was made from clay. The finish on it gives it the appearance of being wood. From where they live i believe the stem was made from a native tree or bush. Hope this helps. Blessed are those who honors and cares for the mother earth.

A lot of old Native American pipes that I see come to auction are catlinite or Stone... definitely not clenchers.
