about a week ago, the wife and I killed a few hours at a local antique/junk shop. As we were about to leave empty-handed, when the better half found a straight bulldog marked "Royal Ascot Supreme" It's about a group three bowl size and a good solid pipe with only a few ashtray dings on the rim...looks to have been only lightly smoked ; has two slight tooth marks at the button ,and a final price of eight bucks landed it in my possession. Once home, a detailed inspection found a fairly clean, drillbit like stinger that runs through the shank and peeks into the bowl like an enter-tube. I'm still in caveman mode around here; so no photos...just a question Who made it? I can't remember whos second the little guy is!! Thanks for any help, Herb.

According to "Who Made That Pipe?" made in America it would be a Mastercraft .

Found this on Pipedia. - According to PipePhil pipes with this brand were manufactured in France for Duncan (according to J.M. Lopes, op. cit. and Wilczak & Colwell, op. cit.). They were destined to US market and sold by Mastercraft. They are made in France and many are marked Algerian Briar. The logo is a crown on the stem. Some pipes of the same name with a horseshoe logo also exist that were made in England, but may not be the same company.

There seems to be some confusion, PipePhil cites Wilczak & Colwell ie "Who Made That Pipe". The listing in "Who Made That Pipe" is as follows: 5830 Royal Ascot Duncan's Engl / France 5831 Royal Ascot Mastercraft USA /Italy 5832 Royal Ascot Supreme Mastercraft USA

I have one that is stamped Algerian briar made in France. A friend owns one that’s stamped made in Italy.
I found this tidbit online............
“ Made in France by Duncan, specifically for distribution in America “
“ Made in Italy by Mastercraft USA.
BOTH of my Mastercraft pipes are stamped made in Italy and Algerian briar. Excellent smokers👌👍👍
