So after my first foray with the Plum Pudding 8 oz tins and the falling auction, I did a bit more bidding. My recent completed purchase contains 6 tins of tobacco that I actually have wanted to try, plus 5 accessory items that I definitely need (of course I do, really); In total, including s/h charges, I saved 44% over the normal prices at the online shops (not MRSP, but the normal discounted prices.) That is not too bad. The biggest savings were on the accessory items and those are more of a one time purchase, but there is some money to be saved with careful bidding and being patient.
On the downside, it could become addictive;)

The other day I made a phone call and I set up an account over the phone and will add a credit card with my first order.

If one is computer challenged 😁 ,call them. They only have two customer service reps that are typically busy with the orders at hand. In other words, if you sent an email you might have to wait a bit before a response will come.
If you enjoy cigars as well, take a look. Cigarbid is not named so for nothing.
The falling auction that started this thread is over, though Seatle Pipe Club tins come up all the time. Right now there are 8 ounce tins of Plum Pudding and Seatle Evening in separate auctions. Currently the bids are 25 and 20 dollars, respectively. There are also a few lots of SPC's 2 ounce tins among other tins, 1 lb bulk offerings, OTC blends and other items.

There are some good deals to be had. I picked up 4 tins of Bengal Slices for $10.25 avg. Looking forward to trying it out.

They can sell on cigarbid for a few dollars less depending on the interest. Still that is a good price and a few dollars less per tin then online prices (Occasionally an online sale can be as good sometimes better than the auction prices. Bengal Slices is rarely on sale.).
