Got to do something today that I haven't for about a decade, and have sincerely missed. I'm sitting here now celebrating with a bowl of Vintage Syrian and considering how random it was to fall into this opportunity, and to be able to share it with other people going forward. It occurs to me that slowroll would probably approve . But overall, I'm also appreciating how great a pipe is for sitting and thinking about these kinds of things. It's funny how such a simple object can really seem more like a companion after you've shared a few sessions like this with it. Life is good! Very cool pics. My grandfather, at 90, flew in one last year. He loved it. Luckily my dad's neighbor is a pilot and has his own steerman. I am hoping to take a ride next summer.

In my last go-round teaching and ride - hopping in a Stearman, I was fortunate enough to share this plane with many fine people. A few times, I got to take WWII vets up and that was really something special. That was 10+years ago in the midwest, and I'm looking forward to doing it again out here in the northwest. This plane is funny though; something about it just resonates with people and that's always fun to share.

I am here in Illinois and once or twice a year they have the steer man fly ins. Really cool to see that many in the air. They fly to Galesburg.
