I've got a 2016 Christmas. A bent billiard. It's become a favourite that I smoke regularly all year.

They look a lot better than last years Christmas pipe... they have the white acrylic stem, I think that my local tobacconist has a dozen, and he has never sold a single one, I think. I think Peterson's Christmas pipes are either a big hit or a huge miss. I have a 2015 05 that I really like, but I kind of despised '16 and '17. This year's is pretty nice, but I'm a little concerned about maintaining the copper cap for years to come. Tarnished copper is just nasty. I like the 2016, I think that the green stem and the reddish dye really set it off...I got a bent and a straight at fire sale prices...I realize that subjectivity is in play though.

But I agree that the '17 was lame. I like the look of the green stemmed 2016 pipes as well.

I thought those were lovely. I'm big into Christmas and red and green together make the pipe a true Christmas pipe.

I got an 03. With the various flaws it's kind of a "second" but for the price it's not too bad. I like the green swirly stem and the color combo is one of the most Christmassy of the Christmas pipes. I like the some of the Sav XMas pipes, too. Might treat myself one of these days. www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/savinelli/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=264258

"That was a smokable second too (hence the blue sticker on the stem)" Why is it considered a second? is it the gnarly looking sandblast, or is the airway off center? the reason for the concern is that those would sale for first rate in the States. I personally like the looks of it. The man in the shop said that there may be fills, slightly-off drilling etc. I suppose, for a rusticated pipe, fills aren't an issue and so it would be more a drilling issue. And he would be right if it was rusticated, but those are sandblasted. A really good blast with nice ring grain can often rival the price of a smooth finish.
