Weekend before last I was thinking I really need to upgrade my impact and did just that but not only the impact but the drill also. I went to Lowes and purchased a Bosch 12v Impact, took it home and tried it out in the shop. HATED IT!!!!! Took the Bosch back and got a refund. Later that day I found myself at Home Depot and I spied with my little eye a Milwaukee Drill and impact with 2 batteries and charger for exactly the same price as the Bosch. I have been using the Milwaukee for a few days at work and I'll tell ya that this is a excellent set of tools and makes my DeWalt look like a wounded cockroach. I think more Milwaukee tools will find homes at my house.

For the most part, Milwaukee are good tools. I have used them since their cases were nickel plated steel.
The things I have used the "Hole Hawg" for would surprise.
Their 7/8 compact Hammer Drill was a regualar tool.
The Sawzall is superb.
I hope you will not be disappointed.

So far I'm not, I really like them thus far. I'm getting about 12 hours on the batteries so far but don't know if that will drop over time.

I have worked with a guy that runs his cordless impact at least 3 times a week for varying jobs in a manufacturing environment. I've worked with him for 6 years and hes still on the same impact and battery. I'm not sure of the battery but I am of the driver.

Makita also makes some fine tools (cordless)...Milwaukee makes some fine tools also. I've got their sawzall in two different "strengths" small and killer. Got to develop better arm muscles for that big un.

That's good to know. I always thought they were a budget tool and my dad always told me to stay away from, what he called, 'Mickey mouse' tools.
I'll consider them next time I need one.

For my money, Milwaukee was top of the line for AC power tools, at least up to a certain size and then Bosch and Hilte. Rockwell was another good tool maker. Long gone now.

Get er done! Milwaukee tools are excellent tools , heavy duty. I consider Bosch a home tool unless you go for the pro series. Good luck bro you'll get there.

I like the Milwaukee tools and I still have 2 sawzalls, I have used pretty much all the big names.I remember buy my first 7.2 Makita cordless set in the early 90's and paying a couple hundred. My current favorite cordless tools are Rigid, lots of power, competitively priced and great warranty. The tools feel good in the hand.
Cordless power tools have come a long long way from when I first started using them.Much improved over time and more choices and different tools can use same batteries.
Hand tools on the other hand have gotten worse over time I think cause fewer people use them. They are not as heavy and I miss the weight of some of the hand tools. Its hard to explain but they just feel cheaper...
