Until lately I hadn't smoked Epiphany in a while, but for some reason I decided to pull some out of the cellar. It's GOOD. I've heard that blends with latakia don't age well, but that's not the case with this stuff. It either hasn't changed at all or maybe got a little smoother. Good stuff.

I agree. I have had some well aged Epiphany before and it was GOOD!

It’s a real good blend and with a few years of aging, the Latakia definitely gets smoother with a much creamier smoke. Aging cuts down on that leathery taste that many describe, which I don’t like personally........enjoy!! If I want to smoke leather I’ll cut up an old belt.....lol

It's nice to come to that realisation...Now, what's another word for that....

I have about 2 oz of this left in my current smoking rotation. I dont smoke it very often but I do like it. Theres a little over a pound in some jars that will have a few birthdays before I open them In a couple years I'll compare the 2

Between the mellowing of the Latakia, and just enough VA's, this blend will always do well with a bit of aging. Was a favorite before I lost my taste for Latakia.

Why, thank you. But in all seriousness. I'm curious as to what happened to put you off latakia.

Speaking of tastes, I have trouble even identifying any latakia at all in Epiphany. If the description didn't say it was there, I wouldn't think so.

It was a steady decrease in my enjoyment. The flavor just started to not agree with me. No real clue as to what caused it though.

Epiphany ages fine imo. Both for the reason you gave, that some latakia improves with age (particularly if one prefers it as a background condiment) and for the fact that most C&D blends are young when sold and benefit from some aging. I try to age all my C&D blends for at least 3 years and, if possible, for even longer.
