Finishing off this tall bowl of D&R Picayune in the meerschaum calabash this morning at 4:30 am. Don't think I'll smoke this pipe any longer; it's too heavy and I don't like the canted bowl - I can't see what I'm doing when I light it. I have an IMP horn and I have had similar problems with lighting it. I've kind of figured out how to eyeball the sweet spot, but it took a while. If it had been a briar pipe I would have scorched the hell out of the rim by now.

Enjoyed a light lunch and am now smoking Erik Stokkebye No. 1 (Pipe Tobacco Blend of the Year) in a 1980s Peterson 314 Full Bend black Sandblast system pipe with a black vulcanite stem and p-lip. A bottle of Boylan's Birch Beer made with pure cane sugar is my drink.

This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad, too! My second Conrad pipe. Ice water and bergs is my evening drink. Watching The Body Snatchers.
