The best English aros are the Frog Mortons... Wilke makes several that are very nice. I need to try some Will blends. I haven't delved into their stock yet. People seem to like Rum Cake, but I think that's a straight aromatic. Rumcake is indeed a straight aro, but it is the best quality aro you can buy. Nobody would call it a gooper.

Before they ran out the first time or the 2nd time? I bought a lot of it right before they ran out the first time...when the blend contained McClelland components. After the reissue early this year, I was gifted a generous sample of the 2018 Shortcut to Mushrooms (post McClelland's closure) and thought it was not as good as the previous version. Still good. But not as good. I was awfully glad I stocked up heavily on the version I liked better with the McClelland ingredients included. The second time. I haven't been around long enough to get in on any firsts (see McClelland anything). But, now it looks like STM is gone for good. Maybe not. They did a decent job of replacing the McClelland ingredients. Perhaps they can successfully replace whatever components are unavailable this time. It may lose a little more of what you like about it. But hopefully it'll still be good.

I had talked to someone there, awhile ago, and said they were working on replacements for STM and Isengard, but that the components wouldn't be the exactly same. They released the new blends in September. I assume these two new ones are the replacements. One is Bombadil, and the other is Goldberry. Bombadil sounds closest to STM.

Maybe we'll like these even better than Shortcut. You just never know.
